Description
The Hauke-Haie-Koog is an important resting and moulting area for many bird species in the Wadden Sea. Every year in spring and autumn when migrating, thousands of geese come to the Hauke-Haien-Koog to rest and moult. Large flocks of Karakarınlı kumkuşu also use this area as a high water resting place. Kılıçgaga, terns, and various songbird species such as Bataklık kirazkuşu, Bıyıklı baştankara and Kındıra kamışçını use the Koog with its wide reed areas as a breeding area. Saz delicesi, Boz kaz, Balaban and various types of ducks also settle here to raise their young. After the breeding season from June to September, large groups of Kaşıkçı can be observed. Among them are young and adult birds.

The observation hide can be reached directly by car because a parking lot is right next to it. You can also make a stop here by bike along the coastal cycle path.
