Description
The Beeder Bruch (or Biotop Beeden) is a nice birding destination near Homburg in the Saarland. The area is part of the river Blies floodplain and has alluvial forests, reeds, meadows and ponds. These different habitats attract many birds. More than 140 different breeding and resting bird species have been identified. The area has an observation tower and an observation platform that give good views over the area. Among the birds you can see are Leylek, Çıkrıkçın, Kilkuyruk, Sütlabi, Küçük su çulluğu, Su çulluğu, Döşüşkenkuş, Dere düdükçünü, Küçük halkalı cılıbıt, Balık kartalı, Delice doğan, Üveyik, Guguk and Sarıasma. In addition to the various bird species, you can also observe water buffalo and Heck cattle as well as a herd of Konik horses. The Beeder Bruch is part of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.

The area can be easily reached on foot and by bike via the Bliestal Freizeitweg (leisure path). Parking is available at Sportplatz Beeden (sports field).
