Alte Elbe is an old arm of the river Elbe near the town of Gerwisch. Good chances to see Akkuyruklu kartal, Balık kartalı and Turna. Many waterbirds, especially during migration time (e.g., Büyük ak balýkçýl, Gri balýkçýl, Boz kaz, Tarla kazi, Kaşıkgaga, Çamurcun, Çıkrıkçın, Ötücü kuğu, Sütlabi, Büyük tarakdiş, Bahri, Küçük batağan, Kızkuşu, Yeşilbacak, Kara kızılbacak, Döşüşkenkuş). In the adjacent areas Kızıl Çaylak, Kara çaylak, Kerkenez, Kara ağaçkakan, Boyunçeviren, and very occasionally Arıkuşu or İbibik can be seen.
