Description
Sougeal Marshes are the only regional nature reserve in north east Brittany. There is an excellent visitor centre (Maison du Marais) east of Sougeal village and two hides on the west side of the marsh. The southern one overlooks the pond where breeding birds congregate, including Kızkuşu and Uzunbacak. When dry, there are public paths around and across the marsh, with parking at access points.
Spring passage birds include Çıkrıkçın, Çamurçulluğu and Döşüşkenkuş. Raptors in season may include Saz delicesi, Gökçe delice and Delice doğan. Guguk , Üveyik and Şarkıcı mukallit breed around the margins. Sığır balıkçılı are abundant, with some Büyük ak balýkçýl, Küçük ak balýkçýl, Leylek and Kaşıkçı.

Access
Marais de Sougeal is located east of the village of Sougéal. Reach the area by car or bicycle, with parking at the visitor centre and access points to the reserve. The circular walk round the perimeter will take about three hours but most of the site may be viewed from the bird hides on the west side.
