Public beach in Kallahdenniemi. Great spot to see migrating waders.
Kallahdenniemen Uimaranta: the beach is a great place to watch birds during migration seasons as many species stop to rest and feed near the shore. Migrating waders are among the most interesting birds to see on the beach and it's possible to see a lot of rarer species if one is lucky. Poyrazkuşu and Dere düdükçünü are a pretty common sight by the beach and it's possible to spot waders like Karakarınlı kumkuşu , Orman düdükçünü , Kızıl kumkuşu ,Yeşilbacak , Halkalı cılıbıt , Küçük halkalı cılıbıt , Sarıbacaklı kumkuşu , Döşüşkenkuş , Sürmeli kervançulluğu , Kıyı çamurçulluğu and Kara kızılbacak. Some lucky birders have even spotted Kılıçgaga here.
Küçük gümüþ martý , Karabağ martı , Kuzey Gümüş Martı , Karasırtlı Martı , Sumru , Kutup sumrusu and Hazar sumrusu are regular birds by the beach. Büyük tarakdiş , Tarakdiş , Kuğu ,Yeşilbaş , Altıngöz , Tepeli patka and Kanada Kazı are also common water fowl.
While waiting for waders to make an appearance it's also good to keep an eye on the reeds and their surroundings as you can spot common birds like Ak kuyruksallayan but also Sarý kuyruksallayan if you're in luck. When small birds are around birds of prey aren't far behind in the form of Atmaca , Çakýr , Saz delicesi and Delice doğan. Some very lucky birders have also seen Yalıçapkını stop briefly on the area.
There's a parking place by the beach. The beach can be walked and cycled too.
When the water level is low, there are more open places for waders to forage on and they're easier to spot during those times. The tiny island in front of the beach also becomes accessible by foot at that time.
