Nature reserve of 70 hectares. Of which 33 hectares are recently planted forest and 28 hectares consist of bog and lakes. The rest of the area is grassland.
Rode Mose is one of the finest and most varied moorland bogs in eastern South Jutland. Since the 1980s, in order to preserve the biological qualities, work has been done to make the bog more wet. You can get lucky and spot the increasingly rare dağ baştankarası. Benekli sinekkapan are breeding in the area and Turna are often seen as well.
3 parking lots along Mosevej. I usually go for the one in the middle, the others are rather cramped. A hiking route of about 3 km is marked around Rode Mose.
Bring wellies if you want to go through the moors, as it is rather swampy and often partially flooded.
