Dead and decaying trees along with natural hydrology makes this forest quite special. It is as close to wilderness as we are likely to get here in Denmark.
The extensive forestry that has been practiced in the area of Bolderslev og Uge Skove, supports a species-rich and very varied forest. There are approximately. 300 different species of trees and herbs in the area, several of which are rare in Denmark. Among the birds you can encounter are 5 species of woodpecker: Kara ağaçkakan, Yeşil Ağaçkakan, Küçük ağaçkakan, Ortanca Ağaçkakan and Orman alaca ağaçkakanı.
