Description

Babbelbeekse Beemden is a typical valley area for this region. This small floodplain is regularly flooded, especially in winter, making it interesting for waterfowl such as Çamurcun, Su çulluğu, Büyük ak balýkçýl, Dağ incirkuşu and Su kılavuzu. An irregular winter guest is the Küçük su çulluğu which is mainly observed here in cold periods. In the area there is also a bird migration observation post where large numbers of Kızıl ardıç, Çayır incirkuşu and Sığırcık fly by in the autumn (see link). Kukumav breed in the pollard willows in the area. In the spring, songbirds such as Çalı kamışçını, Saz Kamışçını, Bataklık kirazkuşu, Akgerdanlı ötleğen, Guguk and Karabağlı ötleğen arrive here to breed.

Access

The area is freely accessible to walkers on the hiking trails (also possible in very wet weather thanks to a boardwalk). In winter and spring, part of the hiking trail is closed to the public, as many water birds come to rest on the water. The walking path is about 500 meters long and starts at the entrance to the nature reserve at Bremstraat.
