Description
This mountain area around the Kalser Glocknerstraße has alpine meadows and steep slopes where you can see alpine marmots, roe deer, and chamois, among others. If you look higher up on the cliffs, you can also see ibex. Birds you can observe include Sakallı akbaba, Kaya kartalý and Kızıl akbaba. Smaller bird species you can find are Dağ incirkuşu, Huş isketesi and Kuyrukkakan. There is a river running through the valley that you can walk around.
Other birds you can encounter are Sarıgagalı dağkargası, Kar serçesi, Duvar Tırmaşık Kuşu, Dağ kuyruksallayanı, Derekuşu, İspinoz, Çam baştankarası, Dağ Bülbülü and the somewhat rarer Büyük dağbülbülü.

Access
The Kalser Glocknerstraße is located northeast of the village of Kals am Großglockner. You can park your car at the information center. Press P on the map for directions to the parking (paid parking lot). A ranger will be at the information center to provide explanations using a telescope and show you the animals in the area. You can make the walk as long as you like. If you're going to a mountain hut, the walk is quite challenging, but if you do a short loop of about 3 km (shown on the map), it's perfectly manageable, despite the occasional climb.
