The 6 km Wonga Walk is one of the most popular walks in Dorrigo National Park and great for birding. Tall, lush rainforest provides a cool and shaded walking track and you also pass the cascading Tristania Falls and Crystal Shower Falls. You walk along 600-year-old trees on an elevated boardwalk and hear bird calls everywhere. Among the birds you can observe are Australian Brushturkey, Satin Bowerbird, Regent Bowerbird, Wompoo Fruit-Dove, Superb Lyrebird, Wonga Pigeon, Noisy Pitta, Green Catbird and Australian King-Parrot.

Extra info

Don't forget to check out the Skywalk lookout near the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. This is a 70m boardwalk that soars over the edge of the escarpment some 21m above the rainforest. Perched right on the edge of the escarpment, the views take in Bellinger Valley to the coast with deep valleys and gorges, blanketed in a rich rainforest. You have a great view of the canopy. Look for Regent Bowerbird, Topknot Pigeon and Grey Goshawk.
