Description
Haghartsin Monastery is good place to combine sightseeing with birdwatching. Here you can find forest species like flycatchers (Benekli sinekkapan, Küçük sinekkapan, Alaca Sinekkapan), tits, finches, woodpeckers and birds of prey (Şahin ssp vulpinus, Atmaca, Çakýr). If you stay in the nearby hotel you can encounter Alaca Baykuş.
This place is on the bottom of a mountain valley, so if you are lucky you can observe Kaya kartalý and Kızıl akbaba.

Access
You can get to Haghartsin Monastery by taxi from Dilijan. It will cost about 4-5 000 amd (2025). You can also go here by car (parking near monastery costs 200 amd) (2025). Press P on the map for directions to the parking. The road to the monastery is asphalted and in good condition.
You should walk around the monastery complex and then go along the hiking trail to the hidden waterfall (about 1.5 km one way) there you can encounter Derekuşu and Dağ kuyruksallayanı. The whole visit will take about 2 hours.
