Nice small pond close to main highway Erevan-Sevan. Perfect if you don't have time to visit Norashen reserve or other spots at the Lake Sevan shore.

Description

Gandzavank Pond is a small pond near the M10 highway. The pond was formerly a part of Lake Sevan and is surrounded by dry pastures. In winter it's frozen and abandoned, but in late spring and summer you can always find here Sutavuðu, Küçük batağan, Sarý kuyruksallayan , Büyük kamışçın and sometimes Çeltikçi and Sığır balıkçılı. In the surrounding pastures and lakeshore forest Guguk, İbibik and Tahtalı could be encountered. There is a good viewpoint to observe the western part of Lake Sevan where you can observe Sakarmeke, Bahri and Tepeli patka all year round.
