Wistlandpound Reservoir is between Barnstaple and Lynton in North Devon.
The smallish reservoir is surrounded by a plantation of mainly conifers. It has a circular walk (2,6 km) and a bird hide (that is not shielded to birds unfortunately). Mindre korsnäbb, Winter ducks and other passerines can be seen regularly.
The A39 main road running from Barnstaple to Lynton passes close by. At Blackmore Gate (North of the reservoir) turn right on the A399 and shortly take a right turn on minor road to Reservoir. The car park is on the South end of the reservoir.
As well as the circular reservoir path there is numerous paths through plantation. The wooded valley below the dam is also good for birds and possibly Red Deer.
