Tottiford and Trenchford Reservoirs are on the South East edge of Dartmoor National Park, West of the Exe Estuary.
This close grouping of reservoirs are in the shape of large letter J. The furthest north, Kennick Reservoir is a closed reservoir (anglers only), but views can be had from the road at the dam. The reservoirs are surrounded by mainly conifer woodland, with moorland and farmland beyond. ägretthäger have been seen in the recent past, so more unusual species are possible. The area can be busy on Summer days when the weather is good, so try duller days or an early morning or late afternoon visit. The South West Lakes Trust have stocked the lakes with Rainbow Trout/Brown Trout and Pike.
The A382 runs between Bovey Tracy in the South and Moretonhampsted in the North, a minor road (Slade Hill) heads East from this road. The length of the circular route on the map below is about 6 km.
As well as following the marked route on the map you can cross dams to shorten route. Don't forget to check farmland/moorland outside of the wooded areas for moorland species.
