Beskrivning

There is usually a warden on hand in summer with the site being of major conservation interest with its breeding smalnäbbad simsnäppa pictured. The surrounding moorland has breeding waders in spring / summer including kärrsnäppa, rödbena, tofsvipa, enkelbeckasin and ljungpipare. Birds of prey are also evident including stenfalk which has its UK stronghold on Lewis. There are regular guided walks throughout June organised by the RSPB to look for Eagles, kornknarr, and other species.
