Beskrivning

RSPB Conwy is a wetland on the east bank of the Conwy estuary created from material dug out during construction of the A55 road tunnel between 1986 and 1991. The site has a visitor center with coffee shop, general shop and toilets. There are three hides and several viewing screens to get nearer the wildlife. The lagoons are the main focus and these receive a good mix of ducks, gulls and waders during the year. The lagoons provide a refuge for hundreds of waders that move off the estuary at high tide. Among the birds you can encounter are gravand, vattenrall, rödspov. tofsvipa, storspov, kärrsnäppa, strandskata, Smådopping, sävsångare, domherre and brandkronad kungsfågel. But many more, see the birdlist below.
