Beskrivning
The big uppside with Stavstensudde may not be the amount of waders but how close you get to the birds. From the shelter one can get a very good view.
During migration from mid april to early june, and late july to early october this is a nice site for watching a good variety of shorebirds. For example roskarl, småsnäppa, sandlöpare, kustsnäppa, brushane, myrsnäppa, mosnäppa, myrspov and kustpipare. Also several pairs of småtärna are breeding.
Rarities that have been seen here are svartbent strandpipare, Tibetan Sand Plover, dammsnäppa, mindre gulbena and tuvsnäppa.
In winter time islandic rödbena and northern större strandpipare and sometimes skärsnäppa can be seen.

If going by bus, take number 1 from Trelleborg train staion to Trelleborg Drivgarnet and walk. Unfortunately its a quite long walk but the last bit you can walk by the sea.
If going by car follow road E6 and turn S towards Fredshög and Stavstensudde.
