The Almendral park is surrounded by urbanizations. Even so, the nearby pine forests serve as a refuge for nocturnal birds of prey like minervauggla and hornuggla that use it to hunt. Also common are Gröngöling and various insectivores such as grå flugsnappare and svart rödstjärt.

The area is especially interesting on spring nights. You can see almost all species of nocturnal birds of prey. The minervauggla, kattuggla, hornuggla and the berguv stand out. The Tornuggla is very rare, as well as the dvärguv, which, if they appear, are expelled by the minervauggla.
