The Alberca de Cortés reservoir is surrounded by a flat, easy-to-follow path with dense vegetation that hides visitors and prevents birds from seeing visitors. The diversity of species is very high, not only aquatic birds such as rörhöna, drillsnäppa, sothöna, Silkeshäger, gråhäger and brun kärrhök. But also vit stork, biätare, and sommargylling are frequent. The environment is mainly composed of crops, so the vegetation surrounding the reservoir also attracts more species to take shelter and make their nests.

Leaving Huesca on the A-132 highway towards Puente la Reina, Chimillas is just 8 kilometers away. From Chimillas, take Calle Alberca, towards the Sierra de Guara Nursing Home (Residencia de Ancianos Sierra de Guara), continue walking and you'll soon arrive. It is recommended to park in the village, Chimillas, and continue walking along, approximately 500 meters. The path around the reservoir is very easy, approximately 1.5 km, and completely flat.
