Tillgänglighet

The saltpans are situated in the saltmarshes. Once you've parked you can easily enter the area walking or cycling and explore every saltpan that is accessible (some are blocked or there is no way to access without getting kneedeep in the mud). In the northern ones you will find ducks such as the gravand, gräsand and snatterand, whereas closer to the lagoon (sea side) you'll find more waders such as the kärrsnäppa, sandlöpare, spovsnäppa, svartbent strandpipare, större strandpipare, småspov and styltlöpare. A bit further way from the access, to the east, it is very common to find groups of större flamingo that allow bystanders to get quite close.

Very good place for watching waders and Fiskgjuse. Best time of day about 2 hours after high tide. When water gets lower the birds spread out so they are further away then.

Top location. Many waders.

Also svartbent strandpipare, skräntärna, blåhake, sammetshätta, långnäbbad mås, småsnäppa seen on 17th October.

René Janssen (2025-02-07)

Currently (February 2025) less interesting since a huge building is being constructed. This disturbs the wildlife seriously.
