Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like alfågel, toppskarv, havssula, alkekung, strömand and småskrake. You might also see smålom and svartnäbbad islom. Örfirsey has also hosted a male knölsvärta every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, snösparv might pass, and along the rocks there might be tobisgrissla.
