Beskrivning
The salt marshes and the sandbank at Westerheversand represent very diverse habitats. Many waders such as the kärrsnäppa, strandskata, rödbena can be observed. On the sandbank, a particularly large number of gulls and other resting birds can be seen. Notable are the myrspov, större strandpipare, svartbent strandpipare, Kentsk tärna, småtärna, kustsnäppa, havsörn and others.
The warft with lighthouse is a fixed point for migratory birds during migration, so that some songbirds can also be observed here.
