The Leipheimer Moos is a beautiful moorland with wide areas for brun kärrhök as well as the rare kornknarr, gulärla, gräshoppsångare and migratory ängspiplärka. In the reed areas north of the border ditch blåhake likes to sing, in the cattle pastures svarthakad buskskvätta and along the boardwalk circuit (the boardwalk itself is unfortunately closed) göktyta, sydnäktergal, enkelbeckasin, tofsvipa, törnsångare, gök, Fasan and spillkråka can be heard or seen.
Also worth a visit in autumn/winter when there are blå kärrhök, Varfågel, jorduggla, bläsgås and Trana.

The Leipheimer Moos is located in north of the town of Günzburg. The area is perfect to explore by bike and on foot. You can park your car south of the area at the Herdweg parking area in Leipheim. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking. The Herdweg area provides convenient access to the moor and its hiking trails.
