Beskrivning
In winter, the Hurstsee is home to a great number and variety of ducks and other waterbirds. There are good numbers (between 15 and 100+) of gräsand, snatterand, vigg, brunand, sothöna and Storskarv.
Smaller groups of Kricka and skäggdopping can usually be seen scattered across the lake. nilgås and knölsvan are often present, as well as ägretthäger, gråhäger, kungsfiskare and forsärla along the fringes of the lake.
With a bit of luck, you can also see storskrake, bläsand, stjärtand, årta (on spring migration) or even a stunning salskrake here!
Waterbirds are the main attraction, but the trees and bushes around the lake are worth checking too. There are plenty of common woodland / garden birds, plus a good chance of seeing (or hearing) any of the following: grönsiska, stenknäck, domherre, järnsparv, brandkronad kungsfågel, rödvingetrast and spillkråka.
