Beskrivning
At the river Ahr are breeding mindre strandpipare and kungsfiskare. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding minervauggla (10 territories in 2020). törnskata and gräshoppsångare are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding sydnäktergal , sommargylling and mellanspett. You can also see Brun glada and lärkfalk during breeding time. In the little reedbed are rörsångare and kärrsångare (also common next to the Ahr). polyglottsångare and härmsångare can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Fiskgjuse and skogssnäppa. In winter you can see some wintering birds like strömstare.

There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
