Beskrivning
Réserve de Saint Samson is covering more than a hundred hectares in the heart of the Dives marshes. From November 15 to April 15, 70-80% of the site's surface is watered. Across the entire flooded surface, the water slide varies from a few centimetres to a maximum of 40 cm. The rest of the year, the reserve is dry allowing maintenance by mowing and grazing. The reserve is an important wintering and stopover for birds in Normandy. You can observe the birds from the observatory located at the water's edge. You can mainly observe ducks and shorebirds such as: Kricka, bläsand, Skedand, stjärtand, rödspov, skedstork, ägretthäger, Silkeshäger, vit stork, Smådopping, Fiskgjuse, jorduggla and mindre strandpipare. Français: Ce site est géré par la Fédération de Chasse du Calvados. Il s'agit donc d'une réserve de chasse de 130 hectares, constituée d'un plan d'eau en hiver. On peut y observer principalement des anatidés et des limicoles comme : sarcelle d'hiver, canard siffleur, canard souchet, canard chipeau, canard pilet, tadorne de Belon, courlis cendré, vanneau huppé, barge à queue noire, bécasseau variable, chevalier gambette, chevalier aboyeur, spatule blanche, grande aigrette, aigrette garzette, héron cendré, cigogne blanche, foulque macroule, grèbe huppé, grèbe castagneux.

In the village of Saint-Samson, take the rue de l'Eglise then follow the signs indicating the reserve. Parking at the entrance to the reserve. The reserve is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., from November 1 to March 31.

One of the observatories, which is located at the edge of the lake, allows you to take pictures in good conditions. It is not accessible during the hunting season.
