Neuvry is a very good spot for waterbirds, and also for local rarities. svarthuvad mås and skrattmås breed in small numbers, as do rödhuvad dykand , vigg and svarthalsad dopping. Kohäger, ägretthäger and Silkeshäger are all regular. Waders are quite common in stopover, especially Tringa sandpipers. dvärgbeckasin winters in the area.
dvärgmås , skäggtärna, svarttärna and Fiskgjuse are regular. This also a good place for ducks in migration period. Among the recent rarities are dammsnäppa , rallhäger , alfågel , gråhakedopping , mosnäppa and silvertärna.

The gravel pit is located directly north of the village of Neuvry. By car only (no train station around). You can go first to the western bird hide, and then walk along the eastern shore of the lake on the dirt road. Be careful, driving is forbidden on the dirt road around the lake, you're in a Natural Reserve, you may be fined. The circular walking route is about 4,5 km.
