Beskrivning
Seurasaari Island provides a nice setting for easy birding in the city of Helsinki. The island has diverse habitats, including natural coastal forests, herb-rich forests with valuable flora, ponds, smooth rocks and a coastal meadow. The area’s flora is very diverse in places, particularly in the south-east part of the island. The peaceful recreational area with its old trees is attractive to many birds.
Seurasaari’s shores and islets are also used as nesting grounds by a variety of birds. But note that the island’s southern shore and islet are a conservation area. Between 1 April and 15 August, visitors are prohibited from coming ashore or moving within 25 metres of the islet.
