Beskrivning
Bulbjerg is a limestone cliff in the north of Jutland. Since 1987, there have been observations and breeding attempts of stormfågel, of which 2 breeding pairs had the first successfull breeding in 2000.
From the cliff you can observe duckspecies as ejder. From the cliff can be seen flocks of sjöorre which feed on mussels and snails, which they dive down and pick up from the seabed. In summer mostly males and young birds can be seen at Bjulberg where they moult their feathers.
Other birds that can be seen from the cliff are tretåig mås, smålom, storlom, havssula, tordmule, sillgrissla, mindre lira, grålira, stormsvala, Klykstjärtad stormsvala and the different kinds of skua, such as kustlabb. Also backsvala can be seen here.
During spring migration, there are good opportunities to see birds of prey, especially on days with easterly winds. Birds you can expect are ormvråk, fjällvråk, röd glada, Fiskgjuse, stenfalk and in the best case, havsörn and kungsörn.
On the remains of Skarreklit - a 16 meter high limestone cliff which was ruined during a storm in 1978 - can be seen Storskarv, the species which gave this rock its name.
