Beskrivning
The Slatina area is an important breeding site for many birds connected to reedbeds such as dvärgrördrom (the only location of this species in Prague), vassångare, vattenrall, trastsångare, rörsångare, rörhöna or Sävsparv. Also the brun kärrhök is breeding here. On the pond itself breeds many pairs of skäggdopping, sothöna, gräsand and a few pairs of brunand and vigg. In the linked rural areas breed törnskata, gräshoppsångare, sydnäktergal and many others. Nearby there is a breeding site of backsvala.
During the spring migration you can see birds such as blåhake, buskskvätta, svarthakad buskskvätta, svartvit flugsnappare, årta and many other species of waterfowl, enkelbeckasin, tofsvipa and many, many more species.
Many birds come to spend a night in the reedbed, especially in the end of summer. It is the best place in the area where to watch stare murmuration. Also ladusvala and gulärla come here to spend a night.
During the weekend the location can be overcrowded by people such as fishermen or bikers so I recommend you to visit the location during weekdays. Please do not disturb birds in their breeding habitats and use just visible pathways!
