The wetland complex and adjacent territories are a mosaic of different habitats supporting interesting bird species all year round. One of the main wintering sites for rödhalsad gås and one of the few in Europe breeding sites of fältsångare. Shabla Tuzla is important stop-over site for many migrating birds and especially for waders. In winter time kopparand can be found there, and with some luck - småtrapp, tatarfalk and other interesting species. You can observe the wintering geese from the road according to the places they land for feeding in the crop fields.
