Goritsa Forest is a place with easy access and is a nice woodland on a almost flat terrain, where balkanflugsnappare breeds. Presence of standing and fallen dead wood provides excellent conditions for mellanspett, mindre hackspett, större hackspett, gråspett, Gröngöling and spillkråka, but also grönsångare, rödstjärt and trädpiplärka. The site is situated on the migratory flyway of storks, pelicans and birds of prey which can be observed from some of the open areas around.
