Beskrivning
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like rödspov , skärfläcka , drillsnäppa , gluttsnäppa , svartsnäppa , grönbena , kärrsnäppa. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see pungmes and skäggmes in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like gräshoppsångare , blåhake , sävsångare and rörsångare are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
