Großkirchheim is a village within the Mölltal Valley, and part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The area has green meadows, forested mountain slopes and on the bottom of the valley the Möll River. You can find birds of prey, forest birds such as större hackspett, kungsfågel, and various tit species such as tofsmes. Along the Möll River you can find forsärla and strömstare.
