Beskrivning
The Permanent Waterhole track is an easy 1,7 km walk upstream from the Broadwater camping area in Sundown National Park. As its name suggests, this waterhole on the Severn River is permanent even in the driest of times and is ideal for bird watching in early morning or late afternoon. Many species of Woodswallow, Flycatcher, and Robin can be seen here. Turquoise Parrot are quite regular visitors throughout the Winter months. You can see ducks, herons, cormorants and Azure Kingfisher along the river. Never underestimate the carpark/campground, as many birds can be seen here.

The Broadwater Campground can be accessed by car. Press P on the map for directions. There are dirt tracks for on-foot walking, but they are smooth so any car can take them. There is then an end to the road and you must get out and walk. The track is signposted, with the permanent waterhole tack being the shortest. The track takes you roughly halfway up a steep hill, but it is very smooth and easy, and there are amazing views between the trees. Multiple days could be spent across the whole National Park, but half a day to a day would be substantial if you're on a tight schedule.
