Beskrivning
The Low Level Nature Reserve got its name from the low-level bridge, that was designed to allow traffic to cross the Katherine River. The bridge stands only 6 feet above the dry season water level. The reserve is a nice quiet shady spot on the Katherine River with many different habitats (wetland, grassland, billabongs and pockets of monsoon forest) within easy walking distance. The many birds makes for great bird photography. There is a network of paths as well as picnic facilities. Birds you can spot include Nankeen Night-Heron, Shining Flycatcher, Sacred Kingfisher, Radjah Shelduck, Pheasant Coucal, Straw-necked Ibis, Little Pied Cormorant, Red-collared Lorikeet, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo and White-winged Triller.
