Short trail leading to a rock jetty where one can walk out on if the weather is good. Best time of year to visit is in Winter.
Barnegat Light is situated on the northern tip of Long Beach Island. For birding it is best to visit this site in winter. The jetty is an awesome place to look for wintering Purple Sandpiper, Dunlin, Common Eider, Long-tailed Duck, Harlequin Duck and Red-breasted Merganser. Good place to scan the ocean and with luck can find Razorbill, and some of the rare wintering ducks like King Eider.
Barnegat Light is located on the northern tip of Long Beach Island. Park in the big parking lot near the lighthouse. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. From the parking a few trails leading to the beach/ jetty.
