RSPB Darts Farm is South East of the City of Exeter in South Devon.
The reserve is 'sandwiched' between the River Clyst and village of Clyst St George, NOTE RSPB Darts Farm is a working farm so please DO NOT encroach onto open fields and crops. The main Exe Estuary is very close to the South West and at high tide many estuary birds head to RSPB Bowling Green Marsh/Goosemoor Nature Reserve and RSPB Darts Farm, because the area is fairly low lying it is prone to flooding especially during Winter, as well as open fields the reserve has wooded areas/hedges and a collection of ponds. The area to the West bordered by the River Clyst is the lowest lying and is marshy and frequently floods. It is overlooked by a bird hide. Whilst the reserve does not have a visitor centre, there is a RSPB shop on the second floor of a small shopping complex.
If travelling from the North come off the M5 motorway onto A376 (Exmouth Road) signed to Clyst At Mary/Clyst St George/Exmouth. On the edge of Clyst St George continue Straight on through roundabout, at next (smaller) roundabout turn Right onto road signed Topsham. RSPB Darts Farm car park is on the Right shortly after this roundabout. If travelling from Exeter (Countess Wear area), head South East along Topsham Road, after passing under the M5 continue on same road (now called Exeter Road). In Topsham (now called High Street) turn sharp Left into Station Road, at next junction continue by way of another sharp turn Right (now called Elm Grove Road). Continue on this road until reaching RSPB Darts Farm car park on the Left.
