Description

Mere Sands Wood is a Lancashire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for species like Zimovka, Poljski vrabac, Veliki detlić and Kobac as they fly to and from their nests in the woodland. If you take a seat in one of the lakeside hides you may see Ćubasti gnjurac performing their elaborate courtship ritual. Vodomar are present as well as wintering Vodeni bik. The lakes and reedbeds also support Barski petlovan, Barska strnadica, Patka dupljašica, Riđoglava patka and more.There are multiple hides, and it's easy walking.
