Description

Efford Valley in East Plymouth is surrounded by housing on all sides, it is high up giving views towards the River Plym Estuary (see separate entry) towards the South East. On it's Northern steep side is a former City Council Tree and Shrub Nursery (press STAR on map). Many of the nursery trees are still in situ, along with additional planting giving good tree cover. The area has mostly more commoner bird species but is one of those that virtually anything can turn up. Šumska sova are frequently both seen and heard, with Zelentarka also on it's bird list along with the occasional Zimovka making an appearance, a bit of a rarity for urban Plymouth.
