A raised boardwalk leads through reedbeds from the visitor centre to the 360 Hide, from where Ribar may be watched during spring and summer.
The reedbeds are typical of the area by the River Dyfi, but the highlight is the virtually guaranteed opportunity to watch Ribar nest with parents and young.
It's possible to use local bus or to walk from Dyfi Junction train station (do NOT attempt the direct route along the railway track, you will be arrested). The entrance is off the A487 road west of Derwenlas, next to a caravan park. There is an entrance fee for non-members.
On site, access is restricted to level paths and boardwalk.
The postcode is SY20 8SR.
Although the boardwalk is level, the viewing platforms on the 360 Tower is accessed via a stair. The top floor contains an information centre with volunteers to help visitors and several scopes and CCTV screens to view the Ribar nest. There's also an external platform that allows a wider view of the valley.
Apart from the birds, keep an eye open for lizards on the boardwalk and water buffalo in the marsh.
