The Ägelsee is popular with birders, as many migratory birds often make a stop at this small lake. There is also an observation post by the lake.
The Ägelsee (or Egelsee) is located at 339 meters above sea level in Zeiningen in the canton of Aargau. The small lake was formed during the retreat of the glaciers during the last ice age. In the middle of the lake there is a large reed bed. From the bird hide many bird species can be observed, for example: Krdža. Ćubasta patka, Mali gnjurac, Crnovrati gnjurac, Barska šljuka, Bela roda, Siva čaplja, Riđa lunja, Crna lunja, Trstenjak crvrkutić, Bela pliska and Barska strnadica.
You can park on the edge of the lake and walk to the bird hide from there. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
