Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like Barski petlovan, Barska kokica, Bela pliska, Žalar slepić, Bregunica, Vodomar, Polojka and Patka dupljašica.
