Shallow reed bay with bird observation tower. Good for migrating birds, birds of prey and many other birds. More than 200 bird species have been observed here.
Munkahusviken is a reed bay that flows out towards Pukaviks bay between Sternö and Oxhaga. The area can be characterized as a shallow bay surrounded by reeds and deciduous groves. In addition, industrial land is located close to the bay and the area itself. The bay is protected from wind and rough seas. Migrating birds pass right over the area during the autumn.
Close to the observation tower you can park. From the bird tower most of the birds come in the direction of Karlshamns. To see birds of prey from the bird tower, the forest in the north is the best direction.
