Description
The Ledskär area has four bird towers, one of which is located at the edge of a very shallow bay which is super popular amongst waterfowl like Šiljkan, Zviždara and Lisasta guska as well as waders like Crvenonogi sprudnik, Crni sprudnik, Velika carska šljuka and Žalar blatarić. Ledskär is also a good place to see Velika čigra and Belorepan. This bird tower is far away from the waters edge so bring a spotting scope.
From the harbour one can have a closer look over the water, but it is difficult to see over the bay, a new birdtower is planned to be built here. West of the parking area there is a marsh and a forest full of birds.
During spring and autumn migration local rarities like Planinska ušata ševa, Morska sprutka, Pljosnokljuna sprutka and Mali ronac can regularly been seen around Ledskär.
A new birding tower was build at the pier during 2021.
