Description
Migrating birds (mostly waterfowl) can be found seen from Ekudden. Especially in autumn (September/Oktober). Then Thousands of Belolika guska, Grivasta guska, Zviždara and Gavka have been seen. Hundreds of Krdža, Šiljkan, Crni turpan and Baršunasti turpan have been migrating during the right weather.
On the Cobs around Kvädö large colonies of Veliki vranac, Arktička čigra, Obična čigra, Sivi galeb and Obični galeb. There is also one of the few colonies of Velika čigra in Sweden at Röskären. If the weather is harsh, arctic waders sometimes stop on the cobs. The cobs are also one of the best wintering areas for Morska sprutka.
The open sea next to Ekudden is often open and holds large amounts of wintering Veliki ronac, Ledenjarka and Patka dupljašica. Smaller amounts of wintering Crni turpan, Srednji ronac, Šarena utva and Ćubasti gnjurac can be found. During late autumn and winter large amounts (at most 3500) of Patka dupljašica and Ćubasta patka winter at Licknewarpsfjärden. Mali ronac, is found up until April but is most common in early December. Smaller amounts of dabbling ducks (Čegrtuša, Zviždara and Krdža) and Riđoglava patka also winter in the bays. The large area of forests bring wintering Suri orao, Jastreb and Kobac. The fields often hold wintering Mišar, and cobs Belorepan.
During spring resting loons have been seen. Passerine birds sometimes rest at Ekudden. Rare birds like Modrovoljka (northern subsp), Crna crvenrepka, and Borova crvenka have been seen. Grebes have been seen resting during the spring (Riđovrati gnjurac, Ćubasti gnjurac (most common), and Ušati gnjurac) are often found.

Parking can be done at Licknewarpsfjärden, at Ekudden, and at gamla Fågelvik. There is a Birdwatching tower at Ekudden.
