Plans de Sió is a large steppe-type area, dominated by single-crop cereal farming, located in the Segarra region. It is a dry landscape with some shrubs or scrub. Steppe bird species, such as Eja livadarka, Mala droplja and Ćurlikovac breed in the area, but can be hard to find. The more common birds include Španska kamenjarka, Beloglavi sup, Zmijar, Patuljasti orao, Riđa lunja, Pupavac, Južni veliki svračak, Velika ševa, Vetruška and Velika strnadica. Sometimes Španski krstaš is observed.
