This reservoir is a protected area and has an observatory. It is the only wetland in the area. The surrounding area is also interesting for steppe birds.
Embalse Monteagudo de las Vicarias collects its waters from the Nagima River. Its area is 100 hectares. The Crnovrati gnjurac and the Prevez are breeding residents, and several migratory species make a stopover in the marsh. Migratory species such as the Crvena čaplja, Crna roda, Ribar, Kašičar and various species of ducks and waders. The surrounding area is also interesting for steppe birds like Crnotrba sadža.
