The Castillo de Gibralfaro is a historic fortress in Málaga, perched atop the Gibralfaro hill. Around the Castillo de Gibralfaro many bird species can be seen in spring during a beautiful walk around the fortress. Lots of greenery and a beautiful view. During the challenging hike uphill you reach the top at a height of 130 meters. During the walk you can hear Obični zviždak and Žutarica singing. In addition, Sredozemna crnoglava grmuša and Jelova senica can also be seen and heard. Other species that can be seen are Mali aleksandar, Kaluđerica papagaj, Dugokljuni puzić, Češljugar and Morski galeb.

Access
The Castillo de Gibralfaro is located in Málaga. You can park at the designated parking area close to the castle. You climb the mountain on foot. If you also want to visit the castle and spot birds, it will take you about 3 hours. Note that if you want to visit the castle the entry fee is € 3.50 (2025).
