Description

Casas de Hitos is an area of ricefields where thousands of Ždral can be seen from October to early March. Also large numbers of Bela roda and Modrovoljka overwinter here. Huge concentrations of passage waders stop here for a few weeks every autumn and spring, including Muljača, Sprudnik ubojica, Mala sprutka, Seda sprutka, Sabljarka, Crnotrba sprutkaand Zlatni vivak. Zijavac and Žalar slepić breed here when the fields are dry. Svilorepi cvrčić, Tigrasta zeba, Talasasta astrilda, Šivačica and Kratkokrili voljić are numerous. Velika droplja and Mala droplja can be seen here, but the tall vegetation makes it rather difficult, and Crnotrba sadža often give good views. Bela lunja breed and feed in the area.
